During the CSC2021 in Hoogwoud, a young handlers competition will be held, in addition to the regular trials. All countries participating to the trials, may also register a young handler. Depending on the number of registrations, the organization decides how many young handlers can participate.

All young handlers have three qualifying runs that take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The points of the two highest scoring runs of each young handler will add up. This results in a ranking. The three young handlers with the highest scores will compete on the finale-day for the title of ‘Young Handler Champion 2021’. The same rules apply as those taken into account on the 2017 World Championships for young handlers.

Registration criteria for young handlers:

  • Young handlers must be younger than 21 years old at the start of the CSC 2021.
  • Young handlers must not have previously represented their country on a National level during a World- or European Championship.
  • Young handlers register via the registration form of the country’s team
  • Young handlers do not pay a registration fee. This is paid for by the Border Collie Club the Netherlands
